Time

Wow-That went fast!!

I hope everyone had a great summer. I was busy making plans and while I was busy doing that, the Universe was busy laughing at me!

 Perpetual Calendar $19

I was making plans to go back to school and/or work. A majority of the summer was spent planning on it: interviewing, sending out resumes, taking tests, writing essays,enrolling in classes, making budgets, arranging for child care, fitting in appointments and getting ready for it all to happen.

BUT, BAM!!! It all fell through.
Financial aid was a bust and after countless 'first date' type interviews, phone interviews, second interviews, computer tests, etc; I'm currently unemployed.

For the past 5 yrs, I had planned on going back to work when my baby started kindergarten (can you hear the Universe laughing?). The income,sense of accomplishment, mental challenges,social interaction and personal style I sacrificed during these years were waiting for me (I thought) in September 2011. This was going to be my time!

Clock $275

But, I'm just going to go with the flow, not think about what I don't have and tap into what I do have an abundance of, which is TIME & RESOURCEFULNESS & HEALTH & FAMILY. I'll use these gifts to:
  • Exercise with my family
  • Stick to my budget & pay off some debt that way.
  • Prepare Healthy Meals
  • Get organized
  • Walk more, drive less
  • Fix up the house
  • Prioritize my life
  • Sew some amazing things!
  • Learn how to use my camera
  • List items on Etsy  {free shipping on purchases over $50 this month with code FREESHIP50}
  • Send out resumes every day
  • Switch Internet browsers or a new blog host so I can comment on all blogs again.
  • Play on Pinterest {let's be friends!}

This is a weird time for me, and I'm feeling a little introspective. Quickly approaching 35 yrs old & it feels like time is flying by & standing still at the exact same time.
Do you ever feel that way?

  1. That's such a shame that the financial aid fell through. I know one of my daughter's friends wasn't able to go to college this year because the aid just wasn't there. Everyone should be able to go to college! Hopefully next year will be better, and that's a fabulous clock!

  2. And life being the way it is, you will just get used to doing all these new things and making progress on these new goals and bam, someone will call you with a job!

  3. Right now is the second time in my adult life that I have been unemployed. The first was when I tried to transition from my 'college job' of retail to my 'professional job' of advertising. It was self imposed. This time, it's not. But I have my plan for the bakery and am working towards it. It's been amazing what I've accomplished during my down time. It's good that you have a plan for you energy. And, as a one time 'hurrah for college' girl (I mean, I do have two degrees) I'm finding that maybe it's not as necessary as I once thought.
